Justis - I have met 'typical macho males' - Abbott was/is a 'take on the typical macho male' in reality someone with his almost comical super-male impersonation is suspect. He was and is trying too hard - there are psychological depth buried inside the exterior manifestation of Abbott. I have come across a lot of males (jokes aside, please) in my lifetime and you can always tell the genuine 'macho' types who often have a soft side to them as well - Abbott is trying too hard; he is still in the juvenile stage of machismo.

Re Turnbull - I respect what he has achieved in his life - I would never dream of being jealous of anyone who has achieved much - most people don't realise how much hard work is needed to do what he has achieved. He is now a thoroughly urbane man with a good education and good manners, openly appreciates and seems to love his wife and family - a good role model, I would think.
Traditionally I vote Labor, but I am happy to vote for Turnbull - he is a more impressive man than Shorten, who probably has his good side as well and has achieved much, but his background as an apparatchik (don't know the English word for that, but a 'numbers' man who weasels away in the background - or has done so in the past!) does not endear him to me - at least. I would prefer Albanese to Bill Shorten. (Maybe it's a stock-market thing - don't like the 'shorters' haha).

I still believe Australia lacks truly far-sighted leaders with a care for the future and an awareness of what this country and its people are truly capable of; but possibly they are not found in politics.
