If, and that’s a big if, this announcement has a large food chain involved would come as a very big surprise so early after legalisation. This would be an extremely quick jump into the product, too quick in my opinion. The food chain would not have had time to effectively review the products against their policies and inline with procedures which I assume would be quite rigourous. Have they had time to do the marketing research to determine the return on investment, time to gauge MCL products against a competetitor which I would guess the executive group of the food chain would want to see. Would the food chain not want to have some influence on the packaging of the products? Take a look in your local woolies store, it’s all about packaging which drives marketing. There is so much work to do before somone like woolies or Coles would put their brand on the line for a product which is not really that new. If they have nailed a deal like this then my hats off to the team because they are quite thin on the ground as expected by a spec stock. Personally I believe we will see a good announcement which continues to lay the foundations for something promising and leading to a company maker. Maybe not a fully signed deal of supplying products locally but possibly a deal abroad or to a small food chain would be more realistic, that’s if the ‘deal’ has anything to do with supply of products. Think left field announcement! A quick buck to be made if you are a day trader but I fail to see how some of the estimates being made are going to be realised at this stage. If it does hit the 20c mark as some have suggested it will do it’s retrace just like it did from close to the 10c mark. I hope the company is releasing news so it plays out like a jigsaw puzzle, slowly and surely allowing the master plan to be realised. This will attract the attention of big players and give the SP some stability as it moves into the 10s making the little guys tidy coin as it plays out.
Keep a cool head people, I’ll be watching closely after reviewing the announcement and seeing how the trading unfolds throughout the day before I jump back in. If the announcement is the right one I’m not worried about paying a higher price after seeing the fundimentals play out for a day or two.
