My signature should only add about 20 bytes to the size of each message, which is bugger all in comparison to the amount of data that would be passing through. The only extra load that any body would be experiencing would be people reading my posts. They would have to download the image to their PC to view it. If they have caching enabled, they should only ever have to download it once so it shouldn't make much difference to them. If however you have dialup without caching then it could be quite a pain. In that case I suggest either enabling a small amount of caching, or setting your browser so it doesn't show animated gifs.
