Flick, you just made me think when you mentioned GJ's wonderful talent!
With well over 2 billion tonnes of IO, which could end up approaching closer to 4bt after the last announcement, GBG having been valued by GJ at 1/2 the value of SDL, must have been the bargain of the century for those ratbag "Johnny come lately's" who now own the majority of SDL.
GJ (as Dixon explained) would have been fully aware that GBG had heaps more magnetite sitting under the hematite than what GBG shareholders were aware of, yet they were willing to sell it at a pittance of its true worth. There's a credibility problem alright!
Considering the paltry value GJ has publicly put on GBG's assets now, GBG must be a target for sure. We may never see or gain its true value.
In time, GBG and SDL may try again but the shoe will be on the other foot then and SDL will rightly get the short end of the stick if Ansteel and Melewar have their way!
My preference is for GBG to stay Aussie made as long and as big as possible!
