Of course there is a God BUT not the God of religion.
The various versions of God competing via the different regions should be evidence enough to demonstrate our inability to comprehend what God is. One thing I am sure of is that humans lack the understanding to make an adequate construct of God.
All religions are manifestly inadequate to deal with this as indeed, are humans in general.
We are egocentric and limited by our physiology, intelligence and prejudicial outlook.
Until we develop more as a species and increase in both intelligence and altruism we will never come close to understanding what God is.
