Correct about there being no GST in the Libs policy - not quite sure how that qualifies as a lie.
Next election was 1998 - GST was in the policy and the Libs won.
In '00 he was elected upon the "kids overboard" lie.
No election in 2000 - try 2001. If you believe that that election was won on the basis of that issue then you are delusional. Do you really think that people changed their vote from Labor to Lib based on it? While you are at it - what excatly was the lie? How did the whole story start?
In '04 he was elected on the "keep record low interest rates" lie.
See previous threads on this debate. Howard's message was that interest rates would always be lower under Libs than under Labor. Howard never said he's keep them at record lows - despite what you may think. there was one caption after a TV ad that read "keeping intereet rates at record lows". If howard said it find the quote.
