Dear Birdfly et.al
Good on you for getting on the phone to BPT. Thanks for your comments and your observations. Quite interesting to read.
Perceived value of shares never ceases to amaze me. I am not to sure why sp has not tracked oil price in direct correlation but I have noticed a simple correlation between BPT's timing of positive announcements and sub-prime nonsense - of course this is just a coincidence. BPT's positive progress has been dashed quite frequently by sub prime echoes of late.
The other thing I have noticed is that when there is a bull run BPT's sp stays stagnent for a day or two while investors mop up BHP, RIO, junior Iron Ore and Macquarie Bank etc. After that, BPT and other lower ASX 200 and midcaps take their turn.
As for market mainipulation ... I am too wary and nieve to suggest that this is happening in BPT. I have actually done what has been suggested in previous BPT threads ... that is, log on to sell a parcel of shares only to find a lower price and change my mind to a buy because that price seems a good buy price at that time. In no way, shape, or form am I attempting to manipulate the market (with my small parcels!!!); I just thought I was getting a bargain. I also maintain that if someone is silly enough to sell a parcel of shares at lower than bid price then someone else will swoop and accumulate. No doubt manipulation happens in the ASX...Bud Fox sells to Gordon Ghecko, making an outlandish bid or offer just after COB. etc etc.
Will BPT's share price run? Yeah I am positive it will. New positive projects and the slick operation(excuse the pun)and high success rates will work in BPT's favour. US sub-prime echoes will gradually fade and market stability will return. My only fear -purely from a selfish point of view is that it will be taken over too cheaply. I would like to see sp go to $1.60-$1.70 first (my perceived value) and then BPT talk turkey with suitors. Although at this stage I have not read or heard of any concrete suitor ... yet. Have to read Fin Review with a fine tooth comb over the next few months.
regards
