Malcolm Turnbull flags postal survey for Australian republic, page-82

Have a plebiscite on something that matters rather than something that is going to empower current political incumbents even more.

The things that need changing in this country have no relevance to whether we are a republic or not . In fact changing to a republic ,which I'm not against in principle, just think who cares,would entail a whole raft of admin. changes that many people would be unaware of ,and cost a bucketload.

What is it with politicians now that they throw something esoteric out there to take the heat off their incompetence in managing the country's affairs . Promulgated by two delusion of grandeur specialists in Keating and Turnbull.

Doesn't put bread on the table. Worry about that first.
