Plimsoll, Yes, agree with you, they seem very Street smart. Their theory on being close to good schools and a police academy is that the police will protect their own and live within a few miles of the place where they got their badge or gun or whatever. As a result, Glen Waverly already a conservative place from what I can gather has become even safer and cleaner while the rest of Melbourne becomes as this thread suggests gang infected or crime tsunami infected. There is apparently more graffiti away from Glen Waverly and Mount View Elementary and a series of high brass police have lived alongside the P.R.C. Mainlanders in the suburb or down the road away from the expensive school zone properties, so those buying these multi-million Melbourne properties feel protected and do not need fences or security protection.
These folk would never buy in New York or Queens or Vancouver or the States anywhere as everyone here needs security and a mostly electric fence, or securecom service. In some parts of your North Shore near Chats’wood and Gordon and Glen Waverly, apparently these mainlander folk with more than a cool $2 million AUD do not need a fence and do not need security. Must be a great police academy if they train them to look after the local Glen Waverly or Mount View area like that. No doubt the schools turn out military style grades and they are “free” Government institutions at that.
Here the elementary schools and secondary colleges are not free, have no library books and have gun detectors at the front gates. In Glen Waverly, if you leave ur textbooks behind, it is not uncommon for an Aussie or an P.R.C. Mainlander kid to ask security to let them in to pick them up. All takes a matter of minutes apparently.
A sort of goldilocks Pollyanna type existence. It seems safer in some areas than the crime tsunami gruffalo graffiti land of Dan the losing Man that everyone including Murdoch’s Nova Entertainment radio stations makes out.
