Bloody brilliant post hm. I certainly share your sentiments on the person I met a few years ago at an AGM - articulate, friendly, knowledgable, considerate & respectful.

Your description of interaction with GC matches mine - I have found his initial response a couple of years ago to match what someone else has described ie defensive and blaming other events but every interaction since that initial one was circumspect, owned responsibility, self blaming and has worked his ring off since to try and make things right.

I think your assesment of MS is good - on paper he doesn't make for an obvious director but his thinking and views would be representative of a multiple of the actual % that he and his family own so he is a good shareholder representative. As I posted a while back - the Board of the new CEO, GC & MS + a governance person + an industry person (ideally batteries) would look great. Of course that assumes the recent moves are successful but I only have the AGM vote results to base an opinion on and it seems inevitable to me that the 2 incumbents are gone.

Shareholders are fortunate to have you back in their company and good on you for going the extra mile to make helpful connections.
