I’m all for battery’s, but in sa if Jay and Toms renewable and storage of renewables was managed correctly then our power prices wouldn’t be double for the next 3 years. If you get rid of base power like coal straight away then the generators will gauge the market. In SA we are paying the cost because they wouldnt spend 30 million on keeping Alinta in port Augusta fired up for 3 years while we proved up our storage of renewables.
SA like usual has been the whipping boy of Aust, but the eastern states are now paying as much as SA. If Malcom cuts coal all together we have no power. Be careful what you wish for, green sounds great but we still need to keep the lights on.
