hmmm, selling for oppies eh ?? I think that may have been a trigger but i don't think it was the whole story. I hate to say it as I don't want to become the unpopular one, but I can see some value in Martis's swaying palm tree analogy. Whilst I do not prescribe to his overly anxious view of the market, I still believe the ol' fella is no fool.

After the post ops date purge we had extremely low vols on both buy and sell sides. While sentiment remained positive it was fun watching the thin sell side get smashed line after line. But all the time no strength was building on either side. So, despite a continuing upbeat outlook we ended up with holders sitting on huge returns, and on very little support on the buy side and, as MS has suggested, a need to take some profit to pay for the upcoming ops conversion. The ops are only 1 for 5 and only 4c. A lot of holders, me included, would have gotten funds from another source to pay for ops. So I believe the numbers don't stack up as the whole reason for the fall. But in conjunction with a really weak buy side I can see that it may have been the trigger.

I have not bought or sold a CVI share since the fall and my mind has been consumed every since trying to decide what it really means. Was this just a nasty correction before fundamentals bring us much bigger rises ?? Or has the stock been ruined with negative sentiment overriding the fundamentals ?? Or is there a deeper problem of which we are unaware ??

As time goes on I am favouring the first option and Chalea's post yesterday has cemented that for me. We went too high too soon and this is about where we should be now, maybe just a bit higher.

The buy and sell depths are starting to look a bit healthier too. The buy side could be a bit better but if current prices hold I reckon more buyers will timidly start to return soon. Maybe as soon as today.
