Prosperman, you clearly have very little understanding of running a school and little understanding of what you're talking about. A school pays for absolutely everything with their budget... support officer - someone who assists students with behavioural needs, high learning needs, speech and language intervention, literacy intervention, numeracy intervention, special education needs, library, administration, front office staff, finance officer, creating learning resources, photocopying, groundsman etc. these people who work in schools are vital. Yes, leadership staff are paid from this $6700 per student you speak of Principal, deputy principal, assistant principals, well being, coordinators (depending on the size of the school). School maintenance - yes, a roof leaking, schools pay for it, air conditioner packs up - school pays for it, sprinkler system breaks down - school pays for it, the list is massive. Subscriptions - yes, depending on the school's priorities subscriptions for students are used for online learning programs, internet... Microsoft office... apps for devices etc. Also you have a lack of understanding about the correct use of your/you're (apologies from the education system). Pay based results in relation to the education system - all that it creates is a competitive environment where teachers don't work together a cooperatively, "teaching to the test" occurs (bad thing) and the likelihood of cheating in tests increases. I like to think that there greater incentives than strictly pay... the work that teachers do in class is remarkable. Working day in day out with up to 30-32 kids in a class with a wide range of needs is challenging, tiring but very rewarding. I have had many conversations with teaching staff where they had been in tears about the students they teach. Upset about the things kids put up with at home, or the basics they are missing out on, abuse etc. etc. it is an emotionally taxing job at times. Lastly, "if doctors receive the same as process workers why study." - job enjoyment, job satisfaction, helping people, because a loved one was once helped by a doctor (or similar) during a traumatic event? Why do doctors (and other professionals/trades people/people with skills in anything) volunteer at times in disadvantaged locations? Surely not for the pay
