Hi harlee would just like to give you my opinion on australian tax
if you are not deemed a professional share trader ie you dont make your normal living out of it then any profits /losses made from shares will normally be treated as a capital gain/loss however if you hold a share for longer than 12 months and sell at a profit this capital gain is then reduced by 50% you will then pay tax on the other 50% at your appropriate tax rate ie this rate will depend on the level of your other forms of income plus the amount of the capital gain however the capital gain will also get to use the 1 for 5 averaging provisions relating to capital gains which may further reduce your marginal tax rate

if share trading is your main source of income then most gains if not all will be treated as normal income irrespective of how long you held the shares hence no 50% reduction

with regard to tax & stuctures you should seek professional advice it will more than likely be worth your while like tcisboss said pay your taxes just pay the minimum you have to then if you want to pay more donate it to charities you support not our often wasteful government to spend

    cheers
