If Kevin gets elected he could very well be a more compassionate leader, he certainly can't be any less compassionate than Howard.
You can go on about economics all you like, but other than that no one can point out anything else that Howard has actually done. There's more to leader than just running the economy.
Anyway i thought running the economy was the treasurers job (and we all know howard credentials as treasurer), so what's Howard been doing the past 11 years?
