Blackgold,
there is never any sure way to avoid faulting issues as the Ellis field and Garcitas ranch fields have proved.
I have held about 80k shares for over 5 years since wicher range was on the go.In August/September 06 I built a large stake between .40 and .50c
I expected underperformance of maybe one field but to have Garcitas ranch,Oyster creek and New Taiton all gross underperformers severly damaged my confidence.
In June/July 07 I offloaded 200k at .70c and would have sold significantly more if the price didnt drop so sharply.
I think they have some good projects such as Kenedy ranch (James Cruikshank purchased 400k share shortly after this well was drilled)
Antares are very strong technically but it is absolutely paramount to have wells drilled calculated and carefully.
Completion techniques can turn a potentially good producer into a very poor performer.
Sometimes things are never as good as they seem and alternatively never as bad as they seem.
I am trusting that over the last 12-18 months that Antares can regroup from their poor performance thus far and start producing some good gas flows.
All the best.
