ffs, I don't think many of you have any idea! shares on issue BHP: 5.7bn.. FMG: 265M .. not even 5% the amount of shares on offer. It's therefore completely irrelevent to compare the exact share prices of both!
FMG is now planning on 200mt production next decade. This is truly a staggering amount of iron ore, and would put it as the world's largest producer of iron ore - hitting right at forecast peak demand.
200mta would put it well in front of RIO and BHP as the world's largest iron ore producer. Again, long way to go, however while the price may be high at near $60, the potential is there to make that look small in say 2012, only 5 years away.
