the vast majority of what you posted occured in Iraq over 10 years or more prior to the invasion in 2003

and also only proves the point I have been making that the US have interferred and meddled in ME affairs including Iraq for decades

Even the massacre of the shiites who rose up against Saddam after the first gulf war. They rose up after being promised by the US they would be supported in over throwing Saddam. A promise the US backed down on leaving them at the mercy of Saddam, and you wonder why the US is hated in the part of the world

In my opinion Iraq unfortunately appears to need a leader such as Saddam to keep the various fanctions in the country inline and from killing each other. An opinion shared by some Iraq's I know who lived in Iraq under Saddam.

And yes maybe the friendship between the US and Iraq did start to fade after the mid 80's, but what did the US do about this, nothing. THey only became involved in GW1 after stating they would stay out of any conflict between Iraq and Kuwait, when their mates the Saudis became nervous about Iraq's actions.

but at least 10 years after the vast majority of killings and human rights violation occurred, when saddam's power base was weakened due to the sanctions. when the Kurds had gained in principle what they wanted, independent rule andwere protected by the US, UK enforeced UN sanctioned no fly zone.

Something the Kurds have no lost and returned to conflict with Iraq and Turkey.

The US use the false pretense of

Links to Sep 11 - there was no connection

WMDs - that did not exist

Human rights violations that occured 10-15 years prior

to once againg meddle, interfere and bomb the cr.ap out of a county in the middle east for no or little other reason than their own self interest.

If the US was seriously interested in fighting terrorism, defeating AQ and capturing/killing Bin laden and fighting extreme fundamentalism islam they would have stayed the course in Afghanistan

Where there were human rights violations occuring at the time not 10-15 years prior

    where terrorist based were established

where bin laden was hiding out

where an extreme fundamentalist governemnt existed.

But then Afghanistan does not have the oil reserves Iraq does.
