Jung saw himself as a scientist who studied-- medicine and psychiatry--he was a medical doctor
He also studied history, philosophy, mythology and was an expert in the original Greek texts of the bible.
He studied a huge number of scientific texts in Latin
He understood a great deal about science and also wanted to find the scientific foundations of the psyche--- and indirectly--- to understand the Divine or the Self or God
Religion is primitive philosophy based on mysticism. Science is based on evidence and reason.
Jung would say to you--Not so!
