I'm not stalking you but that comment about Keating not going ahead with a GST is just crap from him - it's completely unsupported by the facts.

He wanted it but he was rolled - they were too scared to take it to the voters. He makes me puke every time he lectures us about his reforms but he never mentions that he beat Hewson just because of the GST and the day after the election he raised Sales Tax by 10% (from 22 to 22 on most things).

The Labor party hypocritically opposed the introduction of a GST when they knew it was needed. When was the last time they ever mentioned it as a bad move? The day before it was introduced.
