Portions of the claim are novel and inventive, notably with the big exception of Claim # 1.
"A process for extracting lithium values from a lithium-bearing material comprises the steps of:
a) heating a slurry of a lithium-bearing material, a source of fluoride and sulphuric acid at a temperature from 70 °C up to a boiling point of the slurry; and,
b) washing the slurry with water or a dilute acid solution and separating solids therefrom to produce a lithium-bearing solution (LBS)."
Claim 1 - Not novel, not inventive! That's kind of a biggun, sounding like more LIT spin IMO.
Regardless, read the fine print and draw your own conclusions. Slightly off topic, memories of a public announcement from LIT claiming " We don't use HF" spring to mind.
