You are right to some extent.
Luck plays a big part at the early stages, but if you do not have the very basic knowledge, you more likely to be a loser.
When a share grabs my attention, one of the first thing I am looking at is the MC, among a few other things, like liquidity, profile of the company, quality of management, PE ratio,(if any)announcements etc...
I do not wish to throw away my hard earned .
