1. Only a few years ago? 2008 and 2011 are not 'a few years ago' it's a decade ago.
2. A decade ago, China's boom was growing, and even at $47.40, BHP was making so much money it was trading at less than P/E of 15. Today, at $31, the P/E is already 22. BHP is not making enough money to justify its pricing.
3. As always, people are overconfident during a boom and overly gloomy during a bust.
