The Chinese are very savvy and will not drop the USD.
They will however put a plan in place to wean off the USD over a period of time, so as not to shock the global markets, i.e. the hand that feeds China, i.e. one of its biggest trading partners. Once China has brought down the USD reserves to comparable levels with other countries, then is MAY decide to make an announcement.
But not before - if it even happens at all.
