Firstly gold particle size and distribution analysis should have been done months ag0-and a plant designed accordingly. As Novo are probably belatedly doing now -wont be anything like the wash plant. From that information ascertain comminution characteristics -the right crushing and/or grinding -you don't just race off to Karratha and hire a big jaw crusher for crushing road aggregate and then announce on Twitter no problems -we are going to crush to -5 mm ! And then put that hard abrasive material through a lightweight wash plant not designed for that material. The feed hopper will last five minutes -the trommel most likely a bit longer but I guess plenty of welders to patch them up -- And there will be some clay -I can see the crappy little sluices only designed for coarse gold blinding within hours -half the gold being lost - and taking all day to clean up manually instead of having proper jigs /concentrators to achieve accurate results. I will wager the hard mafic material will need to be crushed with a VSI or run through a ball mill to recover all the gold -5mm my a--- the blind leading the blind.
