"Oh wow a WHOLE degree in 100 years. That is just so catastrophic."
I don't think you realise just how massive a change that is. Yes, a WHOLE degree in 100 years, on average. That means much, much more than a WHOLE degree in many places and times - and heatwaves every year here in Australia that before only happened once every handful of years.
You denialists really haven't thought this one through, because you can't seem to comprehend the difference between a one degree hotter day (which is less significant), and heating the entire atmosphere up by one degree on average (which is hugely significant).
"And it’s never happened previously?"
A one degree change due to a Milankovich cycle takes millennia to happen, not a mere hundred years. I know 100 years seems like a long long time to a human, but it's not very long even in the history of our species. Can you start to see why the current rate of change is patently not sustainable?
