I agree on that its the mining game (and the inherent risks), and these types are spec mining stocks - even more fun! Of course do your research but unless you can go out to a companies ground and do your own drilling, then you have to follow what the company is putting out there as information on what they are/potentially are sitting on. There has to be some responsibility on the company to put out truthful information. Of course you can research other things - historical mining in the area, geo studies on surrounding areas etc. I also agree over time you do learn to take it on the chin and move on.
Also another piece of advice for those that haven't lost anything yet..... DO NOT put your house or even your shed on speculative mining stocks, just don't. Or DO but wear a seat belt, and a helmet.
