    Agree.

I'm no expert but in regards to the announcement, I believe as much as it takes for junior lithium companies to produce lithium, it will require as much time for SQM to ramp up production.

Clearly in effect from the announcement is the increase in production costs for SQM and higher allowance to supply more lithium. This does not mean that they will produce at maximum productivity given that they do not want to oversupply the lithium market and weaken the prices considering higher production costs.

Not only that, the announcement does not show the plans in progress to meet the demands for lithium worldwide. Growth in technology is rapid, not only EV requires lithium, what about drones, home appliances, battery-powered scooters and etc...

Companies that produces new technological products will require lithium, will they just base their contract on a major lithium producer? IMO, not all the companies would and some might opt for smaller companies since there is a possibly for such a huge company to fail on orders as well, being a big company, they can choose to breach small contracts and pay some fines for not meeting the order, it wouldn't impact them much. This would result in delays for their products, losing out to their competition.

There are so many possibilities to name but I would say most of the people are overreacting to the announcement of SQM.
