The reason the coal plants are failing, is because they are under excessive pressure to perform.
Engineers build in multiple redundancies in power stations, to help cope the the inevitable maintenance or shutdown. These redundancies have bee removed by the removal of Hazelwood et al and now every hiccup in coal will be a disaster for industry.
