    "LouL, you ARE racist!
You refuse to look at the issue in its entirety and select only the bits that will give you the excuse you need to stay a racist and to stay in the state of poverty and lack of success you''re in now. This is your excuse for not "making it" into the "big time," into the society."

    atomou,

I'm not racist and you'll just have to take my word for it.

You are the one that refuses to look at the issue in its entirety and select only the bits that will give you the excuse you need to ease your conscience for whatever you feel guilty about.

I am not in a state of poverty, I have "made it" as you put it, I have no hang-ups and am confortable with society.

As a matter of fact I'm one of those migrants I was talking about that came to this wonderful country with the ar#se out of my pants and made a life for myself without any handouts. All I had to do is work like anyone else and the harder I worked the better it got.

If you feel you should apologise then do so and leave, after all if your ancestors didn't come here and cause them all this grief in the past, we wouldn't have to apologise now.

If you look back in history you will find that all land has been gained by the sword or the gun (Greeks, Romans, Spanish, British, etc.), that's just the way it was.(still is)

I am Australian and proud of it, I don't bemoan my "pitiful taxes" being used to help people (black or white) that need held and are trying to help themselves but I resent wasting it on people that do nothing to help themselves.

Believe it or not , I actually feel sorry for some aborigines but I detest some of the more outspoken ones that pretend to be doing it for their “Brothers” but all the while plying the system and lining their own pockets and sharing nothing with their “Brothers”.

So I say to you, your apology will not change the life of real Aborigines, only line the pockets of a few of the unscrupulous when they sue for compensation.

The current generation is in no way responsible for what was done 200 years ago and I haven't done anything to the current aboriginal generation that I feel I have to apologise for.

By your reasoning the current Greeks, Romans etc. should be apologising for what their ancestors did.

The bottom line is we are all here and now, let’s treat each other with respect NOW. Let’s get on with our life in harmony NOW, we can’t change the past.

But hey, if it makes you feel better, apologise, just don't try to shame/ bludgeon me into doing the same, my conscience is clear.

    Lou
