There was and is nothing wrong with the $1.- party. The number was arrived at by posters showing detailed calculations. What it did not highlight was the time frame and lots of other variables which definitely will have a substantial impact on any SP. This number subsequently was not only taken as gospel, but expected to be achieved in a short period of time, which of course did not happen.
The "emotionally bonded" does not apply to long term holders but to holders who might as well just go to the casino. Long term holders do not invest in emotions, they invest in fundamentals. Anybody has yet to show that FAR's fundamentals are not good. If you invest in the oil business, FAR is as good as it can get.
The other day a poster highlighted his success in PCL, bragging and comparing it with the dog called FAR. To me, this person is an emotional investor (I follow both, FAR & PCL) and does not really understand the risks involved. I saw PCL run from 8 to 11 to 18 to 28 cents only to end up with a SP of 0.1 cents. And the funny thing is, nothing had really changed with PCL, except that the market crashed and Tullow became temporarily non committal. What number will FAR achieve and under what circumstances? 10 cents, 25 cents, 45 cents? Who knows, but these numbers will be made up from internationally acceptable values used in a particular state the oil find is in, plus, should it happen, in a bonus for a T/O. It is not a casino or a guessing competition.
