hi slaveman. i have found placing smaller trades helps reduce fear. now i risk about 1-2% of capital, instead of 4% on a trade. when i found i was overly stressed, it was always because i was risking too much capital (or to a lesser degree, because i was trading against the longterm trend). it isnt a sprint, it's a steady race. the markets will be there forever, we dont want to get smashed, chewed up and spat out already!

"positions lose their efficiency if the size of the trade is too large".

ie: you then cant really withstand a brief move against your position, and end up sabotaging yourself and having to close it for a loss.... only to see it go the way you thought it would in the first place.

also, ensuring you stand to win more than you lose (even if you dont place the stop loss, have a mental one and stick with it) helps! risk/reward. then even if you lose, you know you were trading with the odds, and if you havent risked too much (see above) you shouldnt feel too bad about the loss.

i hope these ideas can help :)

    good luck
