Guys seriously
The company has asked for a "voluntary" suspension.
The anns clearly explains as to why a voluntary suspension is requested.
Its to answer questions put to it from ASX.
Stop reading into jumping shadows FFS.
Some luny saying never seen a voluntary suspension before?
I've seen at a guess 100 or more in the past 20 years, it's not that uncommon at all.
A suspension benefits both the market and the company IMO.
......
The initial trading halt was called by the company itself, to respond to the AFR news article.
It seems (guess) that the anns provided by GSW was followed up with the ASX asking further questions for GSW to respond too.
Those questions would have been put to GSW only sometime yesterday?
So a voluntary suspension is not only fine, under the circumstances is quite normal practice.
Its paramount that GSW cover off the questions adequately to the satisfaction of the ASX, no need at all to rush the process as it benefits no one.
