Firstly I'm for all workers. Workers should be asking for a bigger piece of the pie. Companies profits up hugely last year, time for the workers to get their share.
Just don't think people should be dumbing down a job they know little about. I would have studied 15 hours a week for my first year of training. However it was worth it, a job I would recommend to anyone.
Day 10 of 18. On average I work 6 days a week. Depending on where rotation days off are on the roster you can do long stretches. 18 is unusual. 12 straight common. Maximum shifts per fortnight is 12.
I work at an outstation in Melbourne. 20 drivers on the rotation. You simply go down the list each week. Only have day shift (mornings) and arovos. 1 week day shift (2am to 9am starts) next week on arovos (9am to 7pm starts, later on weekends). I swap another driver he does my day shifts, so I can do permanent arovos.
