Boy that sounds exactly like the definition of NSW train drivers - getting as much as possible.
But they are ripping off the travelling public and don't give a rat's.
Who is getting the most out of all this. THE UNION OFFICIALS. They have an ENORMOUS VESTED INTEREST in the train drivers' outcome from holding the public to ransom. Just co-incidentally:
1. falling on a long weekend - maximise inconvenience to the travelling public, whilst getting an extension to a long weekend.
2. after a staged "oh dear, we are all sick and need to take out entitlement to doctor-free days sick leave.
So, reality has not yet arrived for the delusional entitlement mob. Try getting into the real world rather than one closetted by your disgraceful union.
It's only a matter of time when there will be more technological solutions to that of paying a bunch of "it's all about me" people.
Wages in a capitalist model are largely determined by the forces of demand and supply. If this was the case here, train drivers would see a CUT IN THEIR WAGES. Certainly, no increase. Large pay increases across the board would be very damaging for our economy so why should your Union attempt to get such increases by:
1. holding train-users to ransom
2. manipulate excessive wages out of sync with the rest of the working public?
Disgusting.
