You are missing the point.

It's not about the nature of the tech, it's about being the best at doing it, getting in first with the biggest companies and leveraging your position. Profitability is secondary to market dominance. Once you have your product in / bums on seats then you push your advantage, streamline, absorb any competition and become THE force in your space. AKA Amazon, Facebook etc etc.

For me growth and adoption is the key metric. Everything else will follow suit. The 4C and a transaction count update is what I need to see.
