dave, worthwhile change always needs decades, irrespective of who or what is being changed, it is always the next generation that the change has to be directed at. Just look at a simple thing like smoking, changing peoples attitudes didn't happen overnight, the young kids today are the 3rd generation that have been exposed to the campaign and hopefully are the ones that will see cigarette smoking dissappear altogether. With regards to the people of Palm Island I can't see any changes happening until there is some worthwhile occupation for everyone whether it is on Palm Island or elsewhere. Not having a real reason to get out of bed in the morning is a problem for all people irrespective of their ethnic or cultural background.
