Re: locations - someone wise said something like this to me once:

“You know... there’s all this pressure to pick the right spot.. or the right time.. and to make everything perfect.. And you worry and fret and then when it all happens you’re more concerned about whether it was #instaperfect or not... But.. it’s simpler than that. Just pick a time and a spot that is meaningful in your relationship, especially for her, and go with that. Maybe it won’t be perfect for others, but it will be for you.. and that’s what really matters”

I had big and elaborate plans for my proposal. Friends, illuminated signs, the Harbour Bridge. No kidding. And then we found ourselves on a little jetty, in the middle of nowhere, with a dark expanse of water in front, and a bright and full moon as the only witness to the start of this new chapter in our lives.

And as it turns out.. that’s just what she wanted.
