    Dear Head,

"How impractical would in be to errect(sic)and mantain(sic) a fence that was high enough to keep kangaroos out."

Well it was practical and more cost effective to erect such a fence to keep the deer and the kangaroos out. Reason for this was we grew flowers, well at least my brother did. So successfully that he has given the work away and now spends his time managing properties that he has acquired from the money he made from that line of farming.

Only a small area was fenced in this way - approximately 5 acres which was used for growing proteas, waratahs and banksias, and the only time it needed to be maintained was when a tree fell on the fenceline.

The wildlife never ate the other flower species that he grew, although the rows attracted field mice and therefore large numbers of snakes.

So, you see dear Head, it can be very practical to fence with 'overheight' fencing wire.

Perhaps you should consider growing Australian wildflowers as a sideline and you may not resent the wildlife so much.

    Cheers,
    Tangrams
