    Yellow cake,

Quite why you have decided to suggest that COZ and planting of Mallee trees is a fraud is bizzare, let alone incorrect. ( and let's not go down your road of own self promotion of sandlewoods.)

lets look at a couple of FACTS-
CO2’s carbon offset program is the only one that has accreditation under NSW and Greenhouse Friendly Scheme’s to generate and market credits generated by planting mallees---sandalwood has no such accreditation and therefore cannot generate saleable credits. Has anyone in the sandalwood industry even tried to apply for accreditation -which is extremely difficult-and costly- to get?

CO2 does not rely on commercial nurseries for seedlings—the amateur nature of the sandalwood industry is highlighted by its apparent dependence on commercial nurseries for supply and price.

BUT TO KNOCK MEANS YOU CAN THE ANSWER THIS -

CO2 would not be selling its products to companies such as Woodside, Qantas, Eraring and Macquarie Bank (and the many more that it is talking to) if those companies were not completely convinced the land was available for ongoing substantial plantings.

    Readers-
Who would you rather believe on these issues—a sandalwood cynic or Don Voelte the MD of Woodside which is Australia's largest publicly traded oil and gas exploration and production company with a market capitalisation of A$34 billion (US$30 billion)? And the others, plus those still to come.

Go Mr Rudd and his Kyoto band....
