especially the section entitled Tin, tungsten and molybdenum
Recent commodity price rises have renewed interest in tin and tungsten exploration, particularly in the historically significant producing regions of far north Queensland. While Queensland’s tungsten production has almost entirely come from the Mount Carbine deposit, which closed in 1986, a variety of hard rock, alluvial, eluvial and deep-lead deposits have yielded Queensland’s tin production. Exploration is confirming the importance of far north Queensland for tin and tungsten, with two new tungsten projects under advanced investigation—the Watershed Grid tungsten project and the Wolfram Camp tungsten and molybdenum project.
Mount Carbine is a company maker for Republic Gold.
