You raise a good point about the Arc welding of submarines. This is not appropriate in a country that prides itself on its sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.
It would be more appropriate that our diesel submarines utilised riveted joints. We need to reapply the full suite of WW1 technology if we are to lead the world in sustainable submarine warfare.
