Companies only pay tax after profit and that includes the cost of wages.

Whats needed is a fair wages policy administered properly by the regulator.

Thats the best method as it takes into account affordability, productivity and fairness.

They don’t appear to be doing their job properly because the system has gone too far
in favour of employers and scant regard for employees.

Politicians are squirming trying to come up with something to save their skins but instead of making things better are likely to make it worse.
