Myer is different than GSW. Myer been around for 100 years in its various forms and is sliding out of the department store business one way or other because more and more people are letting their fingers doing the walking whereas GSW is helping with the delivery side of online shopping and deliveries for bricks & mortar shops too and is hopefully in growth phase where costs will be higher than revenues for only another year or 2.

Myers is losing market share and money too. Amazon is gaining market share and been losing money for some years yet share price is astronomically high by ASX standards.
It might suit Amazon to use the GSW App without others getting a chance to use it too, so Amazon can take Furniture sales from those who feel they cant cope with new technology cramping their lifestyles and workplaces?

Maybe GSW could attempt to list in US market if they can't get back on to ASX? Would that work? I'm not expert in that area but it could be an option given the complexities of doing business in Australia these days.

eg in the State of Victoria Anyone wanting to rent to more than 3 people needs a criminal check and permit but criminals can rent rooms or houses without a police check. Its illegal to rent a 6 bedroom home to more than one single unrelated person without a government permit and without disability toilets and doors 1.5 meters wide and a ramp. Fines are $37,000 but if you leave a house vacant the extra tax is $5000 per year. Foreigners buying houses are charged extra Stamp Duty taxes too to discourage business and building activity too it seems.

So maybe if the American stocks don't keep plunging there might be an opportunity to go to a USA bourse sooner or later?
