You are right and I am wrong kashga. I had got the idea in my head that GDY had decided to drill Hab.3 much further from Hab.1 due to data showing the extent of the stimulated zone obtained from tests in Hab.2
Not so. Hab.2 is 500m from Hab.1 and Hab.3 is 550m from Hab.1. Virtually the same.
Larger spacings (like 1-1/2km's)then have been considered and may be used in future. Of course the advantage is great reductions in the number of wells ultimately required to exploit the field with the large savings in time and costs involved. I am pretty sure GDY believe ths is practicable.
Just so long as the flows and heat transfers etc. give the required efficiencies.
I will call on JUKES, are you there JUKES? to help on this. I reckon he has commented on this in the past.
This development is obviously for later on.
