I prefer the sound of the big singles (thumpers) whether it be a 1934 Ulster Rudge or a 1980 XT550 yamaha trail bike cruising past at around 2000 rpm , those V twin Harleys are not normally a nice synchronise sound , and as a bike the larger ones handle like a pig (except for the little sportster )
The Harley phenomena is waning most guys younger than 45 are not interested in large road bikes any more , and most just consider even a car just a commodity . At a death rate per miles ridne 1700% higher than car drivers there is also a good self preservation policy for not being a bike rider .
Still at any age it is a great adrenalin rush opening up the throttle on a bike and laying it low through S bends .
