It's clear Hamish sees this as peak Magellan although in my view he could never say it.
Share-based payments diversifying away from Magellan's business is likely to continue.
The genius is however that he accepts the inevitable peak and is pre-empting declining momentum.
It's a less bad scenario for shareholders. For those who can, the alternative remains to just sell.
