    Thanks for taking the time to respond thoroughly. I tried searching previous HC posts about rainfall but there wasn't a thread dedicated to it. You make a good point about salt flats. They don't tend to form in areas where there is consistent rainfall...otherwise you'd get, a lake?

    Perhaps there is such a thing as a stupid question, definitely wasn't prepared for the angry responses!!
