PHSKiwi,
Five points
1)I don't need to sell CVN to afford another good stock. I can use funds from something I had to sell (JBM under takeover) and further to that can borrow against my CVN gains (ANZ ML already allows 40%). Many others take similiar strategy to HOLD THEIR WINNERS.
2)Despite agreeing we've already had the quickist (and riskiest) gains, I really struggle to find a stock with better (and less risky) potential over the next 6 months.
3)I will invest further funds elsewhere rather than add more CVN (won't sell though) as CVN is now my largest holding (after selling JBM this week).
4)Most CVN holders are ATO clients, many will hold out for the 12 months CGT discount, some will try to defer the gain to 09FY, more try to defer it as long as possible.
5)Blasphemy is still blasphemy, esp on Sundays.
