What a disastrous announcement. Clearly the mobile business is where they make their money and now they are getting subscriber increases by selling a $10 monthly plan. $1 goes to GST so how on earth can they make money selling $9 a month mobile services. VAYA acquisition was a joke. they bought mobile customers at $500 a pop. And at such a low ARPU that acquisition is not a good one. Broadband - they purchased a business and after all the investment they have a pathetic 13,000 subscribers. Everyone know this is the most competitive Space with very low margins. Another poor management decision. Now to energy - this is the only positive in the announcement. I like the energy business and the potential to cross sell. But it seems now that they are giving away mobile at $9 a subscriber so they can make money from their energy plan. At 10% conversion of mo,bile customers we will have to wait and see if this is a positive step. So mobile is in major decline. broadband is losing money and they paid a lot of money for an energy business that is providing some decent growth. It's a highly priced business for what you are getting now - you're buying a dying mobile business, a loss making broadband business. So why don't we all just go invest in an energy business instead of buying AYS. This announcement was trying to put a positive spin in a dire situation so management do not talk straight with the investor community. This business at best will be taken over by Optus. At worst, this is another fallen staff of the market. I think the telco space is dead. The only one that provides hop[e at the moment is TPG. How disappointing
